Say what??!!

I was looking into renting a Radical s3 for a bit of track day fun today. We chatted a bit about how awesome it was, the aero package, then it came down to price. He quoted me an average of...

$1,500.00

At this point I was thinking.... Okay, thats about the average rate of other "race cars".... but thats when the bottom fell out. He tacked on these two words that about made me croak.

"per hour"

I could hardly believe it.... Is that a normal price for renting a track toy? Most other places I've looked have been 2,000 per DAY.

It'd be cheaper to just build one!

Would that be with a Powertec engine in it ?

I'm beginning to think that my pockets are never going to be deep enough to do some racing unless I win an undeterminately large sum of money in the near future.

That was the "average" cost for guesstimating. The actual rental price depended on which motor you used (he didn't way which). He stated that they ranged from the 1.3 liter to the 1.8 liter.

Hi

Was that plus or including damage insurance. ?
One trip across the grass can see £3000 worth of damage to the under body and front aero sections.

cheers Matt

That price was ONLY the rental, there was a security deposit of $5,500 cash on top of that.
