check the oil. if it is low then it might be oil getting into the engine via the turbo oil seals and it is running on by using its own oil.

its sucking oil from the sump and is libel to run away and self destruct....

has it got a turbo? could be sucking oil from a sump vent causing the running on.....

try again,my problem was oil passing the rings.

mine did that briefly, a new turbo sorted it. As said above, it runs on its own oil til it runs out and pops. So dont start it unless confident you can stall it!

Second hand engines are well expensive, cos they are so shite they are in high demand!

If it is the turbo and you buy one from Renault or Vauxhall, they wont warrant it unless you replace the oil feed + return pipes, intercooler and the two air pipes from the turbo to the engine.

If you use a non gen one remember to cean the intercooler and air pipes out fully.
