Ahh! So it is James May then!

Surrey Dave - 1/9/10 at 04:21 PM

Surely he will get the bullet like Perry McCarthy did for revealing himself, mind you his book 'Flat Out,Flat Broke' was an entertaining read.

Perhaps the Stigs get fed up with being a large part of the show with no proper recognition, and maybe a lot less cash than Jezza and the other's....

Thing is, nobody is interested in Ben Collins being the man in the suit.
The Stig character is absolutely not about him, just like it wasn't about Perry McCarth either.
It's about having a replaceable racing driver who can go fast. Just like a constructor doesn't care what their racing driver thinks, as long as they can go fast.

Nobody cares who it is.
Nobody cares what they think.
Nobody wants to know their story.

By trying to tell everybody this stuff, he's just ended his association with the white suit.

This one's broken, get another.

I'm looking forwards to see how they kill him off. Put a decent amount of effort into the last one.

loggyboy - 1/9/10 at 04:45 PM

I guess he thinks sale of his books will make up for his loss of income from 'Stigging'. Or, perhaps he knew something we dont, like a plan to replace the stig anyway (either undercover replacement, or in baclk stig style?) meaning he is just making the best of it.

Does anyone still watch that program? I gave up with it years ago, as samey as your average soap opera.

BenB - 1/9/10 at 05:09 PM

I really don't care who it is.
I would care if they kept on changing the person from week to week as then the lap times wouldn't mean anything as you'ld have an unknown variable....
But otherwise I can't give a monkeys.

Surrey Dave - 1/9/10 at 05:42 PM

I often wondered if the 'Stig' was a cover for many different drivers, as I would have thought that manufacturers of the expensive stuff on Top Gear would probably have their own preferred test driver to get the best out of the product.

Dangle_kt - 1/9/10 at 06:13 PM

maybe he guessed that top gear was ending, and he wanted to cash in now?

Just because someone is a good driver, doesn't make them the sharpest cookie.

steve m - 1/9/10 at 07:18 PM

As BenB says^^^ i also could not give a tos...

I also doubt it was him every week, but still dont give a t.....

As long as its not VBH.

Maybe Katherine Legge? or Fiona Leggate

Ninehigh - 2/9/10 at 06:16 PM

Who's VBH?

loggyboy - 3/9/10 at 11:36 AM

Vicky Buttkiss Henderson

eddie99 - 3/9/10 at 11:41 AM

Why don't you want vicki? i think it would be great as her. Although it wouldn't be very secretive being a female...

Ninehigh - 3/9/10 at 03:16 PM

Well I was going to say they could have a pink stig that never shuts up and instead of standing there arms folded she'd stand there doing her nails, but the BBC would only get several million complaints to ignore... Would be funny though.

RK - 4/9/10 at 12:59 AM

It couldn't have been May, because the hair would make putting the helmet on impossible.
