I dont understand why this guy seems so upset?
Or is it because hes a yank?
didnt sound that upset to me.....
Nor me...
Maybe he was fed up of people costing themselves money and wanted to save that money for them. And his natural way of putting his point across is to
sound passionate about it?

"Tearing down" an engine always sounds a bit melodramatic to me....
I thought he looked like a guy who cared about people's money. Every American relates absolutely everything to money. I kind of like money too
actually, as do many of you.
He explained very well what the sequence of events is, which I found very interesting, although he did dramatise, as his culture tends to do.
He has a typical midwest US accent, that I would bet most of you think I sound like, but of course, don't... ahem. Mr. Hignett might disagree.
Questions from the floor????

Sound advice i thought.
Most people would never dream of lifting the bonnet. (we are different on here, some dont have bonnets fitted to lift yet
)

Oh, theres no doubt that the information is useful, i just thought he sounded like he was making the video because he was pissed off with seeing
people blow these engines up - even though it was his primary (only) business!
The big Sigh (4:23) in the final part of the vid plays a big part of that perception i suppose.
Just watched it again, and from about 2:30 he starts to sound a bit more emotional.

perhaps his motivation is two fold, he's sick of seeing good engines go to waste & he's sick of having to justify why the owner's engine is completely broken and its going to cost them an arm and a leg.
I needed to watch that like I need a hole in the head!
Friday there was a bit of coolant around the "coolant bottle". Sat. it needed topping up - rationalised it that the pressure cap was playing
up again.
Sun the early morning blat didn't happen due to clouds of "steam" out of the silencer!
Don't have the time to strip it down at the mo. but I'm a bit miffed as the head was skimmed and I re-built it earlier this year.
Suspect it may be crumbled water-ways in the head as it was an issue when the machine shop skimmed it (took off 10 thou only for that reason).
It's never been run hot enough to destroy the head gasket - maybe the mixture's too lean at the top end.
Sorry didn't mean to hi-jack the post but it is kind of relevant - watch your levels - as the man said.
Cheers, Pewe
