Thought I'd share some pics from the build, its nearly finished now and I'm really pleased with the way its looking so far.











Just need to buy and fit the windscreen and mirrors and it should be ready for IVA.

Looks very nice Where did you get the rear splitter from ?

Rear splitter is from Play Skool

I had to trim it slightly as it was just too low to begin with, its not as shiny as a carbon one but for the price. The gel coat is on the underside though, so you can see the weave when you look downwards.

That takes me back. Looking good. How much time are you wasting, standing back and looking at it?

You could do with cutting some wooden props (roof/slate lats) to push the centre of the screen frame up otherwise you'll never get the 'screen to fit. It looks like it's sagged a bit (they all do).

Is that a lowered floor on the drivers side?

Ah another orange one, looking good there, are you having light covers, your front lamps seem a little igh if you are.

MRWibble - its a BEC, i've got a 2007 R1 in there. The shifter is the alloy rod behind the wheel, its connected to a mom-on toggle switch which in turn is connected to a flat shifter max. I have proper flappy paddels to go on, but not until after IVA as they don't fit the sierra wheel.


Nick - my garage is on the 1st floor, there is almost a view, the only (arguable) downside is its right next door to a kebab factory, so there is a delicious smell of spicy kebab all the time, great except when your hungry or have a hangover.

Welderman - i'd love some light covers, but the BGH ones were such a poor fit I left them off. I've been thinking of doing some CAD drawings and seeing if I can get some nice molds 3d printed or something. The black rims do just fit under the covers though.

this bloke which was the cheapest place I could find it. To give it some shape on the tunnel/pods I used some cut down sleeping mat.

Adrian - When its tucked away for the night i've got a couple of wooden props holding it up, i didnt want to push it too much in one go so have been slowly increasing the height that it sits at. Now i've had a proper drive of it, i'm almost able to walk passed it without going into a daydream about what it will be like when its finished. Almost....

The floor is lowered, its about 1.5"lower at the lowest point, its not flat, so the seat sits at a lower angle, and a bit further forward, so didn't really give me the room I was hoping for.

Nice car mate. I've always liked them since I saw AdiThorps's but unfortunately my budget couldn't stretch to one at the time and I settled with the 7.
