I'm still struggling to make the 40s work properly. I can't balance the carbs, I've concluded that 1 of the spindles must be twisted because the throttle valve in #1 barrel is open more than the other 3. If I peer down the progression hole opening daylight is visible in #1 but not #2, 3 or 4. I've spent a few hours fitting and fettling and it's better but I don't think it will improve until I change the spindle. I just can't drop the idle speed sufficiently to set up the idle circuit.

The car is transformed above 2500 rpm but is rough below.

Can't find one anywhere for sale on web. Has anyone got one lying around?
Don't want to go back to the DGAV if I can help it but also don't want to spend a small fortune on new carbs
