Have you looked at the Veloce series of books? I've had a couple on Pintos and car set-up and found them very good.

For ref. I paid about £15 each for the books I had and not £29.99

I had Vizards other Chevy book for my build, and found it excellent. He is a guru of Chevy's.

And in a Cobra the Chevy will hold more value at resale. You could always rebuild a stock one cheaply and then stick a big shiney air filter on it.
Alternatively if you can think of it, it has been done/designed/sold for the 350. I built mine with a stroker crank and hey presto, it's a 383 (6.3ltrs).

You don't need those books, just get an LS lump and you've got a more reliable (and economical) and more powerful engine.
