Another small update at Retropower!
NS Dev - 17/9/10 at 10:06 PM

The white kadett C turbo that I have mentioned a bit on here before has now, finally, broken the 500hp barrier!.

That's without nitrous and still on standard XE cams!

Next year, with cams, solid followers and a decent head, we're going for 600hp, then try the 100hp nitrous!

Plenty in a 750kg car!

PS look out for a feature in Retro Cars soon!

Nice! Does it have heinous amounts of turbo lag? I know there are various clever tricks nowadays with turbos but I can't help but feel it might have some

You come across Darcy with the ratty kadett c? me thinks he'll be a tad jealous!

are you running standard internals as well though or have you had to upgrade to steel roda and forged pistons etc?

its a bit laggy at the mo but to be honest its not TOO bad, and a new roller bearing ceramic turbo going in next year will sort most of the lag

Yea we know him!! He's a sound bloke! Have raced against him at PVS, and we're trying to sort a meet next month at Pod and get them side by side again.

I think Retro Cars will hopefully try and get his machine in the kadett feature too, we'll certainly push them to!

Well.....its was on totally std bottom end until this year. It made over 400hp on a scrapyard bottom end (std XE with some used LET pistons chucked in)

NOW it has arrow steel rods, forged pistons, steel slywheel and lightweight twinplate clutch.

It will be dry sumped over the winter if funds allow and then the rev limit will be stretched to 9000 (the oil pump is the weak point over 8500)

Well another update! We're getting closer to 10's!!

It ran 11.3 sec 1/4 on Saturday at Santa Pod.

Still very little grip, and still the diff isn't locking properly, Ian's (the owner) view was "more sh1t slow runs"!!! So 11.3 wasn't too bad!!

132mph terminal tells more of the story, its putting the power down much better later on the track!

Lastly, for those who have asked about longevity of the Omega V6 gearbox that we're using...........3rd run on Saturday, in 3rd gear, when the boost really come on it broke it!! No 3rd gear, and lost 2nd on the way home.

Think over 450NM through a 280NM rated gearbox was too much!!!
