My grandson is a bit of a petrol head even at 4 1/2 years old . His loves his model cars more than any of his other toys, now here's the
problem. He's got a matchbox poster for his bedroom and on it is a Caterham R500 'just like Grandad's kit car', obviously
it's not exactly like Grandad's but never mind. I've tried everywhere I can think of but can't find one, anyone got any ideas
where I could get hold of one?

Kyosho do a caterham, that is available on eBay.
Just search "Kyosho Caterham", that fetches up a few.
That's a price and half for model car
My lad's (4 & 2) are both nuts on their model cars and I'd love to get them a 7, but they're quite happy with the £1.99 Hot Wheels
cars
That's £29, he's 4 1/2 years old, he wants to play with it not put it in his display cabinet .
Matchbox definitely do one which should be well less than a fiver, it was a new model in 2010, I just can't find one.
I have one of those caterhams, (1.43) and they are definatly not designed for a 4.5 y old to play with !!
My Grandson is 10, and he is not allowed to play with ithe 7
Have you looked in the model shop at Snetterton? they dont have one on their website but there is no way they could have everything in the shop on their website! Its a massive shop! and if you havent ever been it is quite a experience!

I would also second the snetterton race track model shop, worth a call at least
and if your local enough, get down there one weekend when theres some racing on, the boy will love it.
RC car racing makes all kids smile, from 2-92 year old
RC bikes arent racing there until next year now, but model cars are regular, 1:10 to 1:5 scale

there's a Scalextric R500 now as well,
but that's for big kids too !
My son (2) is also obsessed with cars (could it be genetic? He's mad about the 911 too like his mum) so if I spot one I'll get one for you too?
Got one, a little bit expensive but my grandson will love it.
KYOSHO NO.03155R CATERHAM SUPER SEVEN (RED) 1:43 on eBay (end time 11-Oct-10 21:42:55 BST)
PS went to that place at Snetterton, what a shop, don't take your little ones there, you'll never get them out
