PPC mag - Two thumbs up from me!!
bi22le - 27/9/10 at 09:53 PM

Last year my father in law wanted to buy me a subscription to a mag. I thought that was a really good idea and present for my birthday. I decided to go fot Kit Car mag.

It was ok, I enjoyed a few months of it but alot just seemed repeated and it seems you guys feel the same.

So this year I asked for PPC instead. WOW what a mag. This month has about 5 articles (im yet to read it all) I looked forward to reading and I learnt alot. The general grammer and cars seems alot more pro and main stream. Nice to open my eyes to other styles of cars to. I will be looking forward to the next year of mags and at the mo they do 14 months for a 12 month subscription!

Thats my 2ps worth. Problem is will I stick to a se7en or kit car for my next project or be inspired to do something mental and one-off for similar monies!!

And our very own Owelly writes the odd article in there too

I get the mag every month and it always has something to inspire, whether it's a buyers guide to a car I've always fancied (BMW 8 Series...) or a fully SVA'd Formula Vee. It's made me think about my second build in a different way - a BEC frogeye (inspired by a really nice 16v frogeye they had in about a year ago).

I just wish they'd find the spelling and grammar button...

I have to agree - lots of useful tips on various engines and suspension setups. Some zany stuff too - did anyone see the 18 litre aero engined Micro car??

A friend at work recently blew up the diff of his MX5 turbo at a track day. This week, there's a question in PPC about fitting a V8 to an MX5. No Problem, says PPC, MX5 diffs don't have a reputation for being fragile. It is worth a subscription just to show that page to my work colleague.

Just before I removed the Rotrex 4AGE from your Striker I sent in all the details about it. They responded favourably but nothing came of it. Around the same time they were featuring their own supercharged kit car build so I guess it would have clashed.

Smart51 - Just searh the US forums there's usually a conversion kit for most kits over there (Monster Miatas comes to mind). My own RX7 was conveted to a V8 with a kit from a company called Samberg Rod & Custom.

The RX8, Honda S2000 and E36 BMW's are now becoming more popular for conversions.

i'd agree a good mag.
the kit car mags have a bit of a limited appeal now adays. once you get into it you realise that all the best info is on the net.. like here

Agreed its a much better read than the kit car productions.

And with their slant on fabrication and making things fit, its far more use to kit car builders, than the kit car mags

They had a stand at the Autosport show last year, had a chat with them, decent blokes and friendly.

One of my housemates (scimatar loz) was well into PCC and i used to read his copies, I was at PPC in the park with Loughborough Car Club (they ran the autotesting) and its was a good weekend.

Think i'll have to take out a subsciption myself!

Octobers issue is a good one........ ;-)
There'll be some words on fitting another v6 into a small plastic car soon.....

Only found it a couple of months ago, had never seen it around before.
Basically exactly what I was looking for- a car modification mag which isn't stupidly chavvy or full of people simply throwing money at problems.
I say spot on, now I just need to subscribe
