OT mini rant tintop insurance
speedyxjs - 1/10/10 at 04:26 PM

Iv not had much luck with insurance this year!

Started out when my renewal came through from Lancaster Insurance three times what i paid last year (5 yrs no claims, no accidents/claims etc, squeaky clean driving record and been with them for 3 years). Phoned them to see if they had made a mistake or if they would drop the premium they said no so i told them where to go.

Looked for more insurance at the usual places (confused/money supermarket etc) all were good prices but valued my car at 7 - 800 pounds.

I decided to phone a few specialist companies and ended up with a similar quote to what i paid last year (about £100 more than the comparison sites) with
Adrian Flux but they would value the car at £2500 so i agreed.

Then yesterday, i get home and find a letter from them saying they are going to up my premium by £224 because Lancaster will only say i had 2 yrs no claims

I have just got off the phone to them and they are looking into it monday.

Sorry for the rant but i had to vent somewhere

I had simillar problems. Insurance companies seem to have a habit of giving the next one false infomation when you've provided correct infomation.

My last insurer (Aviva) upset me so much with there stupidness that even if they had offered me a decent quote I still wouldn't have stayed with them. They told my new insurer i had a different driving lisense to the one I actually had (Which probably means if anything had happened I would have had to muck about proving it was there mistake) and I had to muck about faxing my driving lisence.

It's all a massive con.
