A bit on the expensive side

Getting ready for my departure in a couple of months and i am looking for parts for my next car.

As in Greece, you are not allowed to change engines in a car, they only way you can increase performance is either Turbo, compressor or ITBs.

So i was looking for options

Linky

and compering with

Linky 2

That makes the ECU about £2700

What happens if you blow an engine then

Why not just buy a fast car .....

Well, If you blow an engine, you need to find an engine with the same code.

I had to send my brother a Seat Leon engine as it was cheaper to buy it here and send it to Greece.

If you buy a faster car, you need a big engine. Road tax in Greece at the moment is freakin expensive.
A 10year old car assuming it's a Laguna 3.0l V6 would be about £900

when i get home, i will post a table of the stupid road tax rules

correcting a previous mistake

Here is the list with road tax in greece

Cars prior 1996
Engine size 786-1357 187Euro
1358-1928 352Euro
1929-2357 671Euro
Over 2357 880Euro

Cars 1996-2000
Engine Size 786-1357 162Euro
1358-1928 302Euro
1929-2357 596Euro
Over 2357 780Euro

Cars 2000-2005
Engine Size 786-1357 137Euro
1358-1928 252Euro
1929-2357 521Euro
Over 2357 680Euro

Cars 2005-over
Engine Size 786-1357 94Euro
1358-1928 184Euro
1929-2357 428Euro
Over 2357 562Euro

And also in Greece, in order to be able to afford a car, you need to declare how much you earn.

The table is big so i am only going to use some

Engine------------Up to 5years old----------Up to 10 Years old--------Over 10 years old

1200---------------3000 euros---------2400 euros-------1800euros
1400---------------3900 euros---------3120 euros-------2340
1800---------------5100 euros---------4080 euros-------3060 euros

Now if you consider basic wages are 6000 euros a year you could afford a brand new 2.0 litre car but you need to pay 428 euros on road tax which is 170 euros less than your basic wages per month.
If you like a classic one then you need to pay 671 euros which is more than basic wages.
