Helmet/Bullet Cams Anyone
pajsh - 7/10/10 at 08:51 PM

Trying to think of a 50th birthday pressie for my big brother and as he's really keen on his bike track days so I thought a bullet cam might be a nice idea.

I guess you could spend anything from £50 to £5,000 but I'm hoping I might get something acceptable for around £100.

Presumably it might have an external recording device or can you get a decent length of time out of an SD card.

I've no real knowledge so can someone help me out.

Have a look at the GoPro Hero cameras, come with a variety of mounts so you can mount them on helmets, bodywork or even a chest harness.
2GB card will do an hour of recording, can be upgraded to do 2 hours on a 4GB card for free.

i second the gopro, i got one after seeing a friends who uses it to skydive. Mounted it to my RC heli and was amazed at the picture on my pc and HD tv.

Advice it to pick one up from the states as they are half the price of the uk. But strongly recomend a 8 gig card for it.

Does need a £5.00 + SD card.

Please note I'm not recommending this seller it's just an ebay example.

For a better setup I would have a look at these guys http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/
