Last week, i got a nice pair of Sparco harnesses.
As they have been used and are a bit dirty, what would be the best method to clean them up and revive them?
Soappy watter with what sort of soap do i use? Clothes one, fairy ????
I wonder if they could go in the washing machine? Maybe a couple of socks over the eyes to stop them making a racket hitting the drum.
I'd just wipe them with a damp cloth - use soap flakes in warm water.
Anything else and you risk screwing up the stitching.
Soak in a biological powder?
Or (don't laugh) how about dry cleaning ?
dish washer !!!!!
can you remove the buckle to put it in the dishwasher?
I could use it. Wife is not around, it's not mine, never use it.
Well come on you guys
Don't tell me that no one has ever washed their belts.
I used washing powder and left to soak for a while. Made a big difference and got rid of musty smells. No harm to stiches as far as I can tell.
I have a red pair I got from an online scrappy, dirty didn't describe them. I filled a builders bucket with hot water and bio powder dumped the belts in leaving the buckles over the edge of the bucket, laid them on the patio next day and gave them a seeing too with the jet wash. Got about 85% off, good nuff for me
can i get replacement buckles? mines feel a bit wobbly and the buckle is fixed with the scrotch belt. I am not sure if i am going to use them as 6 point at the moment and i would like to use it as 4 point
Can't help with the buckles Q, but whenever I was harnesses I just use a damp soapy cloth.
Soaking them can often leave water-marks that look more manky than the grimey stains you are trying to get out!
As for jet-washing... were you being serious? Hope you checked the stitches afterwards!
