I brought these on ebay last week and have come to fit them on the car today and one of them is pissing out oil.

Can i complain as they were advertised as 'could be used as they are'?

If not, where can i get them repaired preferably at low cost?

Sorry to hear that - you'll need to rebuild them.

If you paid by Paypal you can now basically shaft the seller as you have all the rights.

One of the reasons I don't sell much on eBay these days.

Tricky one, anything COULD be used as it is, but whether it functions properly or not is another thing.
Interesting that there is no oil pissing out onto his bed in the picture though
So might be worth a try, its not like they were £10 is it

I would say that you could ask the seller to pay for the cost of a repair or a refund as there was no mention of a leak, the description of used clearly says "is fully operational and functions as intended"

Start a complaint, if they are leaking badly they are not fully functional as intended.

However the high volume of general miscellaneous items should have raised a large question mark --- this guy is a general dealer what used to be called a rag & bone man.
Also they don't exactly look in good condition in the picture.

I think I would go for a refund

if I had won them, (I think I only bid about 65 on them ones)

I would have been sending them back, if its pissing out, then I doubt thats a new occurence

if its any help, recently EVERY case I have seen of and heard off goes in favour of the buyer when a dispute reaches ebay or paypal

sellers are getting mugged off left right and centre, hence why I dont sell anything on there anymore

I cant afford new ones, and am bidding on lots of coilovers in the hope of getting a pair, but have to admit that hearing of your experience has un nerved me


oops just noticed that Im bidding on the other pair of them LOL

(just double checked and not bidding on them, just watching as Im winning 2 other pairs at the moment LOL)

I have just had a Paypal refund on some not as described goods.
My advice is to explain to the seller that the dampers are leaking and since this was not declared in the advert ask for a refund. Keep it polite and to the point. See what happens. If you do not get a reply in 7 days send a brief reminder. If no satisfactory reply in 7 days open a case with Ebay.

I have just sent him a polite email quoting the description and the situation and asked him for a refund. If he starts getting awkward or doesn't reply, i will open a dispute through paypal.

Update - I have just had quite a nasty email from them saying that they are not going to refund so i may have to resort to paypal
