One of the family cars has gone ping in Dunfermline - Engine died on him, RAC diagnosed it as the crank sensor.
The sensor was replaced by No2 son this morning fresh from the Ford dealer.
The part looks exactly as the old sensor did, (which was cracked) and was fitted without any problem.
No2 son started the engine and the thing has sheared off - It fired then died
Now without being there myself to have a look - No2 son has....
1)Fitted it the wrong way - unlikely
2) Been given the wrong part number ? ie longer reach
3) No idea as Im not able to look at it
Any suggestions please on a fag packet.
