Just got a V5 back from a car to be used as a parts bin and there is
No longer a tick box for scrapped. Only a section for selling to a
Dismantled.
Well they can't crush them anymore, it all gets taken apart
I would imagine you can no longer do it yourself - afterall, you wont in all honesty completely scrap it. You will still send the shell somewhere, who will undoubtedly be a lisenced dismantler. They will do the scrapping part.
Yeah ^^that's pretty much what I meant

With scrap at close to £200/ton and an army of licensed recyclers waiting to pay you for it and deal with the scrapping element you want to get the
car stripped and weigh in the shell and recover the cash.
The last 2 Sierras I've stripped and sold the parts from I've made a good part of the purchase price back straight away in scrap value.
I'm screwed if i ever send the V5 off .............
the shell went to the scrap yard about 5 years ago minus two bits of metal that contained the chassis number. Those plus the registration plate and v5
live in my spare room.
My shell went the same way, still have the vin plates, yet had no problem registering with age related plates 2 years ago!could in theory nick a black 200sx and ring it,as last time i checked out of curiosity it wasn't even on hpi even though my insurance wrote it off!
