Evening lads, looking for some advice on a problem i have with a generator.

For some reason from when it was brand new its throwing oil out of it, looking closer at it the other night i can see its comming from the vent inside
the airfilter which pipes to the top of the engine (so a breather vent on most car engines). There is no smoke from its exhaust and the oil is
dripping out of the air filter into the outer casing.
The genny runs perfectly but requires filling up every 8 hours which for a 4 stroke i feel is too much (0.25l oil). Before i take the engine apart can
anyone point me at what they feel it might be?
cheers
Piston rings never bedded in properly or the rings got broken during assembly
cheers
Would the engine not run correctly if it was a piston ring failure? i suppose i should remove the spark plug and have a look at the state of it.
good job its not mine
Blocked breather valve or overfilled?
If it was ring failure it would run like a dog, youre right.
my 4 stroke did this as i did not close the fuel tap when not in use and ended up with the petrol seeping into the sump and then splashing out the
same sort of pipe as yours when running.
I had to change the oil and been fine ever since.
i was told it was overfilled on its first change. but its not showing any on the dip stick but seems to not light the oil pressure LED. so its got
little oil in it but seems to have pressure and oil in the air filter.
strange.
