Just a quicky. Can headlights with the reflective stuff be put in the dishwasher? Mine are dirty inside and i have tried spraying brake cleaner in them but that hasn't done much. I think i may have read a while ago that dishwashers and the reflective stuff dont get on well together but i cant remember.
DON'T DO IT.
Dishwashers use a caustic cleaning product, it will eat the mirroring!
I can't think of a good answer at the moment, but perhaps, ultrasonic bath and microcleen?
hth
Ok i wont
Knew id read something about it.
Can you not rig something up like a fridge light that only comes on when door is open? Might need to silicon it up to keep water out. You could try
only using dishwasher during day (assuming the room has a window) or with main rom light on. Better still, get someone else to use it.
If you have to use headlights id angle them towards back of dishwasher and make sure the internal casing doesnt reflect light back into your eyes as
it will dazzle you quite a lot.

lmao....
My headlights were a bit grubby from sitting around for a few years............so I put them in the dishwasher , and they came out looking like new
Claire,
were they sealed beam units, or did you stop the water getting inside the open unit?

now I see that I missed the subtle nuance,..
hmmm, never put any uncoated aluminium, leaded glass, or mirrored surface through a dishwasher in my opinion.
