I've patched the sills on my old monster but the patches are clearly smooth when the surrounding metalwork is covered in textured
paint/chipproofing from the factory. What's the best way of returning the texture and what products would anyone use? I've a couple of
options :-
Filler, stippling tool of some sort - no idea how.
filler the remaining dimples to smooth, then paint everything smooth.
Try to find a paint/stone chip paint that'll re-create the original texture.
Thoughts?
Buy some stone-chip paint and spray on?
What's the likelyhood of it matching the existing texture and not looking stupid?
bodge as follows spray a nice thick coat of paint on repaired area
whilst paint still wet, use a kitchen sponce to stipple area.
allow to dry then finish with topcoat.
What about driving through some muddy puddles and then forgetting all about it.
Hammerite used to do a heavily textured paint that was ideal for this but it has vannished from the market..
Stone-chip is what you need it comes in a aerosol can spray it on and after dry spray the color you want to match the car
3M Body Gard textured coating and a schutz gun or you can get it in an aerosol.

Awesome sauce. I'll see what I can find and give it a try. Cheers guys, bodywork is not my forte lol
Or, if its low enough, waxoil along the sill and underneath.
Tis low down on the sill but will be very visible.
