depends what she's looking for in a car I guess

some of my mates parents have them - none of them liked them much
(the main complaints are its extremly slow and dull )

I don't think they break any more than most modern cars...

my mum has got the 1.3 cdi and my sister has got the 1.4 petrol. the diesel goes much better. make sure it has rake and reach on the steering as my sisters doesnt have it and you can never get comfortable. also make sure it has had the recall done on the driver seat as you set the height and it gradually gets lower all on its self. over all they are not bad little cars

I took my last driving test in one, I learnt with BSM and drove the MkII and the MKIII (Though not as much) and I never liked the MkIII, the one before drove better and the newest one has electonic indicator switches which are awfull. I'm not a big fan of the shape it's self either, it looks okayish in 3 dr.

I took a few lessons in a new shape Corsa.
I found it to be pretty pleasant, but slightly sluggish.
The rear isn't very big, but there's loads of room in the front.
I think tyre noise was quite bad at high speed, but no worse than a fiesta or similar.
didn't drive it enough to tell you anything about build quality.

spent a day in a racing vxr at croft last year and that was great fun. hard to believe how well it handled.

also had a new corsa as a hire car and couldnt believe how much bigger it felt to the old version we have at home. felt very comfy, but not quite as nimble as older cars.

Basically a grande punto, nasty nasty cars.

The Grande Punto drives better in my brief experience, even though the Corsa had a better Gearbox (Propper Auto compared to Fiats Duallogic). The Fiat Felt better put together and sharper. The Corsas Were all less than 6 months old, the Fiat was two if it makes any difference. Something I remembered aswell, the very first MkIII Corsa I drove was an early one and had a lot of niggles, the second one was much better.
