Hi all,
I reckon this is a great place to ask this kind of question, so here goes......
I'm having problems having something turned on a lathe, the tooling company I was going to use don't have a large enough lathe or chuck? for
the steel tool i need making it's 510mm diameter.
Does anyone know of tool makers or a company with a lathe large enough to cope?
Thanks in advance.
Bit of a usless post but we have a 4jaw chuck that will fit that kind of size but im miles aways from newark hence why the usless post. But goodluck!
We use Gee Engineering for our big stuff, don't know how far they go but I think they could cope with that OK.
They are in Nottingham NG7.
They have a basic website with their details on but I can't post a link - it comes up in Google easy enough.

I work nearby and see them doing so very big stuff at times!
I'm sure I heard (quite sometime ago) someone on here worked for a place that had a lathe with a 6' chuck.
I could be mistaken though.
