I'll be brief as I'm fairly clueless about this all!
I've never taken part in any car event in the UK. With the weather looking up, and my dad visiting myself and SWMBO, it'd be nice to go
somewhere on a nice day out on a weekend.
I'm keen to either take part in a production car road rally, trial or autosolo.
Basically something that's fun, cheap, and can be done without the need for a competition license, and something I can take my daily driver (a
3dr Micra) to participate in.
As there seems to be an absolute miriad of motor clubs (I'm based in north cotswolds just south of Stratford-upon-Avon), all of which are fairly
blurry in their structuring, I was hoping someone here would be able to give me a nudge in the right direction.
If there's something coming up within the next couple of weeks, even better!

I'm intrested in doing something simillar, is it safe to use your daily driver for trials/sprints what have you's?
trials can be damaging if you are unlucky, and there is always the odd tree/rock etc lurking and jumping out in front of you, but I have done a few in
my old Triumph toledo, drive there, drive home, go to work (very muddy too)
Sprints are different, thyink you need all sorts of stuff for those.
Autosolo, again very safe unless you hit a cone too hard, autotests, similar.
Road rallying can be iffy. The red mist comes down a bit on the 12 car events, and it is easy to forget you are on public roads. Plus most insurance
policies do not cover you, standalone (3rd party) insurance about £15 per event.
I would have no issues with autotests/solos in an everyday car, as long as it isn't too precious to you. PCT's, go and watch one first. The
diffs take a heck of a bashing
Oxford MC a good bet, have a look at what they do. My local club is pretty hopeless in terms of website, the guy who does it all is not a teccy, and
lacks the time to keep it updated. Other clubs are better about it, but don't judge clubs just by the websites, go see what they do. Most have a
focus, some rallies, some regularities, others trials and so on.

I did a days autotesting in my daily yesterday, £10 sign on, got 8 runs of around a minute each, wore the shoulder on my front road tyre a little and flat spotted two old spare 13s
