I was talking at work today and a mate said he had a mk2 escort that had a red oval badge on the front.
was this standard to a special model if so which one
Jacko
It was just a standard badge with the blue sanded off and then sprayed red, we used to do them whatever colour we fancied on the day.
He said it was original as he got the car from Fords new
Im with pete, used to do the same on my old capri's and sierras sand the blue off the back and paint em what ever colour matched the car .
Ford never fitted Red badges to anything. There was a craze in the 80's to fit them though or modify standard ones.
The only time they were used from the 'factory' was in the 30's and 40's apparently.
Did you know this is breach of trade mark??
Ah who cares. Scrape off the blue from the back and paint as you want.
Only if you do it to sell on. You can do what you want with your own property.
Ah that brings back memories. I did mine red to. I also changed "Escort" to "Sorted". Happy days the early 90s!
Blast!!!
Mine were yellow...
