Threaded bar to get wheels on
speedyxjs - 7/4/11 at 09:54 AM

Im going away for a week from next friday leaving my dad to deal with any tyre changing that needs doing. The only problem he is having is getting the wheels back on to the car as some are too heavy for him. I thought about some female and male threaded bars of the most popular sizes that he could just slide the wheel over.

Does anyone know where i could get such a thing or be able to make some up for me?

Can he not use a long tyre lever under the tyre to act as a lever. Thats what i used to do with huge truck wheels.

yeah I'm now changing tyres on trucks and busses, you just lower the truck till the wheel matches the axle, I can't even lift a truck wheel. Same applies to cars too.

You're either a poof or you have really heavy car wheels

Very old trick ------Use a shovel under the tyre makes it a lot easier to jockey and lfft it in to position ---- even a very small shovel works.
