Very childish and it probable needs to be mapped out but I love this shot
From the Oulton Trackday on Friday.
That just the ticket to keep those rear tyres warm
Not the least bit childish
Even better if it was accompanied by suitable pops and bangs on the overrun
Must get my car doing that
thats why you built it right?
very cool photo
Bit of fire on the over-run is good for the environment.
It means you have spare oxygen in the exhaust, which means you are not wasting fuel.
On mine, I can map it out, but it requires adding fuel. If I try the fuel cut on over-run then I struggle to get smooth pickup from intermediate
revs.
Adi has similar behaviour from his Orange Fury, if you look at his avatar you can see his flames too at Llandow (the trackday you missed owing to the
escape of bits of your previous engine). Its a bit concerning when you combine these flames with the fact that a striker fuel tank fell out during
the same trackday and dumped 30litres of fuel on the track.

Its unburnt fuel in the exhaust, but is normally caused by being overly lean than overly rich (bizarrely). Basically its the extreme of exhaust
popping and banging on the over run. If you are very lean there isnt enough fuel to burn in the combustion chamber and it is just pumped into the
exhaust, until there is enough in the exhaust to ignite. Hey presto....
Though you can also get the same effect by dumping a load of fuel into the exhaust on a gear change too...
Whatever, its good for photos and annoying other motorists.
Not so good for the wadding in your exhaust though
