I have bought (well paid a deposit) on a BMW F650 GS from a dealer, www.usedbikebuyer.co.uk. went to see it last week and it all looked good, but never saw the V5. I was supposed to pick it up today after it was MOT'd and serviced, but they have just called saying they cant find the v5. So what do i do?? I got it for a good price, so really dont want to let it go, but just worried incase something is amiss. I'm sure its not, but it just worrying me. Also the bike has no tax, so until new v5 turns up i cant tax it. Oh if it makes any difference i'm paying for it on the credit card so have some back up. GGGRRRRRRR!!!!
assuming its a bonafide dealer, get a fully receipt, and knock £20 off for the cost of applying for the v5.
v5 isnt about legally owning it, its about legal responsibility for it, so the presence or absence of a v5 isnt that important.

I'd just tell them to deliver it when they find the V5 and you'll pay the remaining money once that's done, should give them more incentive to look harder anyhow

I'd also tell them to road tax it too as it should be sold ready for the road, certainly would you buy a car from a dealer with no road tax?? no chance
