Hi, I need to join a copper brake line together i was possibly thinking i could use a male to felmale union connecton with the right flares obviously but not sure if this would work can anyone advise? if i need a proper brass connection is it something halfrauds would sell?
How long a run is it? Might be safer to renew the length.
Peugeots for one use a male pipe nut joined to a female nut , not the best way to do it IMHO when proper pipe joiners are available
I tend to agree with macc man, I would use a new single length.
Thanks all for replies its for a mini and origionally they had a join between the BMC to the run that goes to the front subframe for ease of dropping the front subframe im guessing so was thinking of keeping it but renewing as its a complete restoration i understand what your saying fewer joins are always better i suppose
I know there is a double ended male fitting available (spitfires/heralds came from the factory with them , 1/3 way along the chassis) and then a
female connector each side. That should do the trick??
I 2may" have a used one laying about, can check if you wish? mind you, it would be getting on a bit, and I suspect cheap new....

A join is no problem provided you use a proper joiner, either male-male or female-female.
Just joining a male to a female can be done but it is really bad practice.
