Whereas I was once blasé in relation to sitting on my fuel tank, I've since found that my carefree attitude is being tested as the specs confirmation date dawns closer! Not only is the location an issue... it's exposed from either flank due to the part-exo styling of the trike. *insertslightlybottlingitsmiley*

I had originally planned an ali tank, or a Jaz plastic tank, but not so much now. Weight is always a consideration I suppose, but the tank will be small, so what's the collective thoughts on making it from a thick gauge steel? Or even going the full hog and making it ball-shaped like some of the LPG tanks so any impacts glance off of it?

All opinions welcome!

Alloy and safety foam would be my choice every time. Or, even better, a bag tank if possible.

Similar concerns with the fiat tank- easy to create something that will fit what space I have, but when I put it backwards into the hedge at 100mph I will take my chances with the cage working or otherwise, but if it did work I could do without petrol pouring on my legs.


Two trains of thought here, the Kimini tank is buried inside the car, or do it seven style and put it at the back of the car where you cannot see it , and try not to think about it.


My dilemma is I dont want it in the front, and am almost forced to go into the engine compartment -
