I don't see the issues

in fact, one or two I have used in emergency (string wiper is one......tin can exhaust the other)
I like the dual purpose door/bottle opener two birds etc

The battery with the built in detonator is class!

i like the retro pc cd player not a bad idea who's going to nick one of those

TheGiantTribble - 27/5/11 at 09:56 AM

Nothing says 'Keep your distance' better than a log bumper

IMHO far more effective than some 'Kids in the back' sign

Macbeast - 27/5/11 at 09:57 AM

What with Corgi, etc, I'm surprised we are still allowed to fix our own cars

COREdevelopments - 27/5/11 at 10:14 AM

I have to own up to doing the tin can exhaust repair, using a bean tin when I was on holiday down devon and worked a treat and even lasted a few months until the GF wrote the car off!! But as for the rest I have not tried. (Yet!) Some scary ideas on there!!

It's not publicised, but you can work on your own gas fittings if you're feeling brave.
You only need to be corgi registered if you're doing it for reward

BenB - 27/5/11 at 11:46 AM

I like the Merc badge. Quality anti-blingage

Confused but excited. - 27/5/11 at 12:47 PM

Very interesting. Can you quote your source for that information?
I have just been quoted over £900 by Transco to move my gas meter vertically 4ft.
If a fitter working for me couldn't do that in under an hour, he'd be signing on tomorrow.

Sorted.
Just downloaded; Safety in the installation and use of gas systems and appliancesGas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998. Approved Code of Practice and guidance. Third edition 2011.
free from: http://books.hse.gov.uk/hse/public/saleproduct.jsf?catalogueCode=9780717664191
The body that I just spoke to at the HSE stated that if it's your own property, you can do pretty much what you like with gas equipment, unlike the leccy regs. But be warned, if it all goes tits-up you are liable for any claims against you.

Yes and your insurance company won't want to know. Also be careful if selling as they want all certificates so you'll remain liable even after you're gone.

I have actualy Serviced a car that had a steering wheel covered in stickers to hide where the airbag had blown.
