just found this i need to convert the 290nm torque on my hub to lb/in
http://www.boltscience.com/pages/convert.htm
thought it might help someone else....
so you should be getting the answer as 290 Nm = 213 ft.lbs
and if anyone wants to check my maths:
2.2 lbs = 1 kg
1 N = 0.1019 kg (1 kg = 9.81 N)
so 1 N = 0.2243 lbs
1 m = 39.37" = 3.2808'
so 3.2808*02243 = 0.73589 ft.lbs per Nm
(or the inverse 1.3589 ft.lbs per Nm if you want to go the other way)
so 290Nm = 213 ft.lbs
or here's a decent online converter for just about anything to anything: http://www.onlineconversion.com/
not bad
213.892699620894.....
to be exact

I have a reliable source that says
290Nm is approximately equal to FT
