F1 testing accident at Duxford.

I don't think this has been mentioned on here yet.

Looking at some of the stills on youtube etc, I think she was very lucky to have survived the initial accident. Seems like an awful mistake for the lorry to be left not only where it was, but with the tail lift at the position it was.

Hoping for a speedy recovery

But yes I agree, I guess it's down to there being no race, that such hardware got overlooked
and I hope she survives in one piece too

Says somthing about the 'anti stall' kicked in as she slowed down to pull in.. eeek...
They're light as a feather - no wonder it took off out of control if you was'nt expecting it..!

Yep, you're looking at around 450kg IIRC! Makes my Pinto'd Locost seem like a tank in comparison!

Still can't believe that the tail lift was left down anyhow, especially as the rear door was closed too. Probably some numpty using it as a seat or something!

Closer to 650kgs more likely

Anti-stall should pull the clutch in so unlikely to have been that i would have thought.

I predict a Riot - 4/7/12 at 05:22 PM

Just heard that she is going to be OK but that she has lost her right eye.

I feel really sorry for her personally as I would of liked to of seen her move into F1.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Maria

According to Radio Le Mans, on their weekly show, she hit the truck in an attempt to steer the car away from the crowds that were watching / servicing the car.

Doctors have confirm she has lost the sight of her right eye.
Shame she will never get to race in F1.
