ok here goes.
2004 renault megane 1.9dci 120hp. Just replaced the turbo, had all intercooler pipes and intercooler cleaned out. New turbo on, driven just about 40
miles now and cleaned most the oil out of exhaust. No smoke on start up, no smoke on load, no smoke on idle so all good. Actually drives real nice.
The problem is that it seems to lack punch, as if the turbo is not actually working. It drives like a non turbo diesel. Drove it around got her up to
70mph and all seems fine, no strange noises, just lacks the turbo punch.
One thing that I thought was wrong was the vacuum pipe layout and me connecting them up wrong, but all seems ok there. The engine stops by a vacuum
operated valve and the engine does stop.
Im just a liitle baffled as to why the turbo doesn't seem to kick in. Could it be the vacuum pipe to the turbo or maybe the EGR valve is stuck
(this was removed and cleaned as it was capped in oil and carbon and was stuck solid, all seemed ok when I put it back together)
So, does anyone have any suggestions to check next?? This thing is now driving me mad.
Please let me know your thoughts
Thanks
Andy
