honda crv immobiliser

spare key for my crv wont start the car

immobiliser lamp flashes when i put the key in...

does this mean a visit to a main stealer, or is there a way round ?

Key may need to be synchronised or reprogrammed , what year is the car ? I may be able to check on Autodata tomorrow if I get a chance
