When posting an ad, it really helps if you use something like the following as headings.
FS: Hayabusa engine
or
WTD: Hayabusa engine.
That way, when your post shows up in the listings, people immediately see whether you're looking to buy or looking to sell.
It might sound trivial, but it does help.

I appreciate it doesnt show up on the front page of the site, but its hardly difficult to press 'back' if its not what you were after!

So what your sayin is its ok for the readers to be lazy, but not the posters? lol
It will help get the right viewers to your thread.
For instance, I know nothing about certain types of car, so if the title is just 'citroen saxo' I am unlikely to click it.
If, for instance, the title said 'FS: Citroen Saxo £50', then I would think 'interesting!'.
Alternatively, I have hundreds of M8 bolts in most shapes and sizes, so when someone posts 'M8 Bolt' I am unlikely to click it.
If the title were 'WTD: M8 Bolt' I would think 'I can probably help there!'

A far better solution would be for the front page summary to show the sub-forum that the thread is in.
or just use http://locostbuilders.co.uk/today.php ??!!
I have to agree with the OP. I often have a very slow connection so by the time the thread has opened, I've realised it's not relevant to me, and hit, 'back', I've missed a % of my life that I may need later..... It's pretty simple 'netticate'.
I agree with zil, an extra 5 chars at the start of a post like this would be usefull and no trouble to any poster...
It would be useful if the forum name appeared in the front page, as although the today.php is useful I don't always use it as I like to see he
pics at the top of the page.
It also helps to post in either the For Sale section or the Wanted section rather than a completly different section of the forum
