Today Im not going to bother doing anything

Well today is one of those days where I will not bother doing anything. Quick trip into garage to do a couple of jobs, hooked up battery and the starter spins constantly. I have not changed anything or touched any wiring since I was last out there and the car worked fine (except for o2 sensor fault)

So why is my starter no constantly spinning???

I give up.

Because the solenoid for the pre engagement got sticky.

It probably needs stripped out and cleaned.

Don't forget tapping it with the knockometer can also free it up. this is a temporary solution only.

A tap with the knockometer is the initial chosen method as stated

And in my experience it has been a long term fix. There may be something Thats just sticking enough to stop it. A little love tap and the noisey racket of an exhaust note will return.
