I am looking for a 12v jump starter battery charger, to use to start up to a 3 litre diesel engine, ive looked on ebay, but can anyone recommend a good one to use for a quick start in a emergency, thanks Paul

Get the biggest you can reasonably afford
I got a 400amp machine mart one 18 years ago, its still going strong. I think its a Rally 410 only problem is if you over cook it and the fuses blow
as they are not readily available.
Thanks for that Steve, I should have also said, looking at spending around £100, so best I can get around that price, something to start my Minibus on
a cold morning, if for example the battery was dead one cold winter morning
Possibly worth buying a battery conditioner? would save you a bit of hassle if you can avoid killing the battery in the first place.
Edit: Saying that, the old bloke next door has a big old thing summat like
this, which is pretty much instant get out of jail
free with dodgy batteries, not a jump starter as such, but is close enough for my money.

Would there be any merit in just getting a bigger battery for the bus, and maybe checking the glowplugs? Much easier at least!
My jeep never starts if you give it even one day off, but luckily ive got two other reliable vehicles to start it off! I had to get up at 4 in the morning the other day and put jump leads on it to stop the alarm going off... in my dressing gown! Neighbours love me![]()
how about just another battery then chuck it in the bus now, and keep the old one as a backup, but keep the old one on a battery conditioner so you know it's always charged, them jump packs normaly only have a small ish battery inside them, i've got the 100ah out of the bm as a portable 12v supply, that sucker will start just about anything
good call rick. At the auction they just have a huge battery on a sack truck that they use to start all the dodgy motors!
Yes thinking about it that may be my best option, buy a new new battery for the bus, keep it on a battery conditioner in the garage, then can use it
to jump start any of my vehicles, and if the bus battery should pack up, Ive already got a spare to fit to it, cheers guys for input
