Potential stupid question about headlights
Ninehigh - 17/1/13 at 10:16 PM

Yesterday I replaced both headlight bulbs (passenger side had gone, decided to replace as a pair)

Now the driver's side beam seem a bit off, looks low from where I'm sat.

The question is would turning the bulb round make any difference? It's a H7 one with 2 pins so I guess I could have fitted it upside down. I've not driven down any properly dark roads yet, and the beam pattern against a wall looks ok..

I would say so.. they have areflector on the the bulbs

It'll only fit one way. Check it's seated properly (though that usually gives bad pattern). If not that then slight variation in the filament position in the bulb can effect the aim. If it's that either re-adjust or try another bulb.

It is possible to get a H7 bulb in wrong affecting the beam pattern , have a look with a mirror if in doubt to make sure its located correctly

That's what I was thinking, it was a barstud to get out (until the top of the washer bottle popped off, it's supposed to to give you room apparently!) so I've no idea which way it went in
