Following a request for old photos on a stockcar website, the owner has informed me that there is to be a series on the History channel starting 11th April 2013, there is a trail for it here, as it was these and stockcars back in the 70's that got me interested in motorsport in the first place. Worth I watch I would say.
i live about 20 mins from Essex raceway which is the only Banger racer circuit in se area i rexon.
i go once a year at least and its a blast. Im quite supprised there are not more spectators. its such a fun sport to watch.
Isn't there one at Wimbledon?
spectated and raced .....
shocked at how many volvos are being used if you look at the latest vids , they were never any good because of the crumple zones .....
speaking of stock cars(not bangers) are there any Brisca fans on here? season opener at Belle Vue this weekend. (if it isnt snowing too much)

Hi.
I am a big fan of the oval racing and the GF's 9 yo daughter loves the bangers.
I have spent so much time watching oval racing over the last 2 years i have been kidded into doing a season of oval track Legends as well as a full
season of Locost and sports specials.
First race in the legend is this Sunday at Hednesford hills raceway.
Cheers Matt

Banger racing is the only motorsport i have ever made money at, in years gone by we used to be given the cars for free, sell a few bits off them, get
paid a bit of appearance money then at the risk of been accused of been a rodder a win would see a small cash prize.
These days in 2 litre national bangers you need to be investing close on (many invest more) £1k into a car that may get folded on the first corner,
you need a whizzy engine, fancy rubber the list goes on, granada shells are fetching close on £1k these days then the need the whizzy engine
transplant.
All that said great sport to be involved in from spectator to competitor, Matt those Walls are unforgiving at Hemdesrford beware.
Yes me and all my mates did it years ago.
We smashed many of fords granada, cortina, capri any thing really had a
datsun 180b Saab were excellent.
Also did grasstrack. 2.0 litre Nova
If this works this was my 180b

If we are posting photos. then I was sent this by the owner of the website I contacted. This is me aged 8 complete with boney knees, lol..... Photo
was taken in 1974 at New Brighton, Wirral, now its a housing estate sadly. Seems the neighbours did not like the noise !!.

'The neighbours' most of whom bought their house knowing full well that there was a race track at the end of the street! Makes me so bl$€¥dy
mad, and happened in the same way in my home town: long eaton too. We had a Stock car and banger track as well as speedway and dogs. People I met used
to know the place because of the track. Now there's nothing apart from empty shops, two supermarkets and lots of vacant industrial units
