Been playing with the datalogging from the Abingdon sprint at the weekend. So on cold tyres on old concrete therefore not the best surface plus me
trying not to break driveshafts these are the best numbers.
10mph 1.01secs
20mph 1.67secs
30mph 2.23secs
40mph 2.77secs
50mph 3.89secs
60mph 4.57secs
70mph 5.24secs
80mph 6.68secs
90mph 7.54secs
100mph 8.26secs
0-100mph is done in just over 200metres. Maximum of 0.95G under acceleration. 2 gear changes of .7secs each. With warm tyres and better surface I
think it would be in the 7secs mark to 100. The limiting factor now is the speed of the gearchanges (H pattern synchro box) and I'm getting
beaten by cars with sequential changes with WOT shift. I reckon that a sequential box would have saved .8-1.0 secs to 100.
0-100metres was 5.66dsecs at 74.7mph
0-200m was 8.25secs at 99.2mph
Not bad for an English Axle lol....
When shifting do you apply pressure in the direction you want to shift a second or two before you actually clutch in?
You can push/pull pretty hard and as soon as you let off the accelerator and clutch in, it will quickly fall into place.

Looks like traction off the line is an issue if 0-60 is 4.6s with 531 bhp/ton?
FYI a car with the same spec as mine (M3 engined 7, about 435 bhp/ton with racelogic launch control and full-throttle shift electrickery) can do 0-60
in 3.5 on a poor surface, and 0-100 in 7.5 - we thought there was probably room for a little improvement there as well. So maybe some electronic
gizmos / better tyres could give worthwhile improvements?
I've already broken the BGH E8 box once and I got told off for 'beating the baulk rings' during changes so I try not to be 'too' quick with it (cost a fair bit to fix last time). I really need a 60G Quaife or something similar with WOT changes to go faster I think.

Still playing with the new Video4 unit so not high quality videos yet
And this was the other course at Abingdon with a Sylva J15 leaving before me. Again still setting up the cameras for the Video4

I think I have watched nearly all of your vids and if this is the kind of quality of vid for the future I am a happy lad.

When I saw your video the first time I thought that it would end with you getting a sequential gearbox.
Bit pricey I guess. £6k?

Yes....the next step has to be a sequential box but it is £6K plus....so not in the near future !

English Axle with Quaife ATB on 3.54 ratio. Tyres are Avon ZZR A24 compound 185 13 front and 215 13 rear.
Car weighs 620Kg with some fuel but no driver....so 720Kg with me in it.
