Needing a new family car ( ) and Honda Accords around an 06 plate look like a bit of a decent deal on the face of it............?

I know it wont be exactly exciting to drive but you can fit a LOT of child related 'stuff' in an estate that size...........

I've got one and have to say it has been the best car I have ever known. Don't know why people say they aren't nice to drive, IMO they are far better than the usual German default cars, far more reliable too.

I have a CDTI estate on an '04 plate - brilliant car. Comfy, smooth, and a HUGE boot. I got shot of ours, as the timing chain/tensioners were coming up to needing doing (130k miles) and I also didn't need such a large estate at the time, so I bought something smaller.

Right now I am in the market for a large estate again, but I have a rule about not buying the same car twice!

They are not the most fun cars to drive - very grippy setup, but very little feel through the steering wheel. You could get the back end into play on a wet roundabout, but the traction control did have a bit of a panic when you got the car sliding! But then again, you don't really buy one of these because of its sporty credentials, you buy one because the boot is absolutely huge!

I would have no issue in recommending an Accord - lovely car, with plenty of kit, and Honda reliability. Just check everything works as it should before you handover your wonga (electric boot lid is a common problem on the estates).

Honda :-) no hassle no bother they just work.

Only thing about Hondas is at some time in the future when the car has an interstellar mileage everything is pre-programed to fail or break on the same day.

One thing to watch is when changing the oil be very careful not to flood the valve gear with too much oil as if the cam cover breather gets full of oil you end up with a wrecked Lamda sensor.

That's the kind of things I was expecting/hoping to hear I know about the bootlid issue but I can't really find people complaining of any other problems....which is quite unusual on the interweb lets face it!

If I was in the market for a sports car I'd buy one - but this time round I need something with a huge boot, that is comfortable, ok to drive AND that doesn't break down every 5000 miles unlike my TDI Passat

Honda are terrible ...for business, when fixing cars is what you do. Bloody things rarely need fixing.

Had a couple of customers complain about low MPG with them.
