Had a great day, just pipped by Stephen Laing in his R500 Caterham (0.15sec) but 4th Overall and 2nd in class with a 83.6sec run.
We had two 'virgins' in our class, double driving a GKD Legend (rodgling and friend) who went faster during the day with a 89.9 and 90sec
run. So well done on your first sprint guys.

Excellent! I must go back and play there sometime.
Really enjoyed the day, shame Simon had to go and beat in me in my own car but still, good fun anyway. Trying to download some video now but the gopro
is playing up.
Well done on 2nd in class Jeff. Will hopefully see you there again next year.
still not shaken off that pesky r500 jeff! would be interesting to see the results if you swapped cars half way through the day
Stephen Laing is a very tough competitor. The Quaife Sequential in the R500 makes a big difference plus Stephen is a very good driver. If you look at the video I outbraked myself (slightly) on the last right before the finish...probable lost 0.3secs or so which would have been enough. Great days motorsport though and the only things to beat Stephen and I where two single seaters, everything else was 3+sec back and the next in our class was over 6 secs back.
so what is it?
time for a new gearbox or time for a single seater
Well....a single seater would come with the sequential (at least a BEC single seater would). First thing is to put a charge cooler on the car, see if more power helps lol...
Did I mention it was a bumpy surface?
Holy.....
Driven wheels in the air isn't going to be good for time or diff/gearbox (assuming sticky tyres). But selecting suspension settings based on
course ends up being a big money game.
Bet you end up with the quaife eventually.
The place is too bumpy! I bent a lower front wishbone there!
I competed there about 7-8yrs ago, not again. Good fun but way too bumpy for anything othr than a road car imho. After one seriius chassis thump on the deck my back was sore for a couple of days after!
Wow, that is quite a lot of air. Hope the car survived it OK. Are you on fairly stiff springs?
Managed to get a sort-of-data-logged video together, based on 1 Hz GPS data from an old phone with some home-made logging software... a bit low-tech
so don't take the speed overlay too seriously:

The car is fine....it looks worse than it is. Most cars have one or more tyres in the air over the bumps there.
