Well that was my first thought but the pipes appear to go to the sump so still not sure.

I would have thought water pump by the size of the hoses, however it looks like there is a nice flat part at the bottom that might accept an oil filter.

Still would have thought water pump

Isn't that not going to thee bottom of the oil cooler and not the sump?

Its a waterpump, but the pipes you see are the water pipes that are fed in to the oil cooler.
