My Passat B6 has started making a groaning noise when turning the wheel at parking speeds. The steering is not stiff at all and on the move it's quiet and smooth, no knocks or clonks from anywhere. Soemone suggested low PAS fluid, but having checked this I found it's an electro-mechanical system with the motor on the rack. I can't see anything obviously wrong underneath either.

Any ideas from the LCB world of knowledge...?
