Anyone on here work in car insurance?

Further to my other post about buying a first car for my step son. Yesterday we got a car sorted so last night I went to sort the insurance out. From 7 days ago the prices have jumped up by £300, just wondered if anyone knew why? The quote done last week was for the exact same car but not using the reg number.

I have been using the various comparison sites all week for various different cars, someone did suggest using a different computer/new login to run the quotes again? Would this make any difference ?

did you save the first quote ?

Yes but it was using a different reg number. Exact same spec, model, year etc. but when I amend the quote with the correct reg number it jumps in price.

Just to say quotes on other cars have also gone up by 200-300 since the ones I did last week so it's not specific to this car.

Definitely try another computer, it works for booking Holidays and Flights !!!

Like Ben said, it does bump up flight costs when you search for it in advance and book later.

two ideas
set the insurance to start in a weeks time (ie your speculative & may get a better price)
clear your cache / cookies and try again if getting to another computer isnt easy.
