I noticed today that when on full left lock my ESP light comes on and stays on. The car is a 2009 Mondeo 2.0TDCI.
I'm guessing at a faulty connection to the abs sensor. It only happens when putting full left lock on and goes off and stays off if the ignition
is turned off and back on until turning very sharp left again.
Has anyone come across this before?
Cheers

It will have active (Hall Effect) sensors, often problems with those are caused by wheel bearing problems, the wheel bearings a have a ferro magnetic
rubber ring built into the seal.
These Hall Effect types can be very difficult to trace faults in without the diagnostic equipment to read the codes, for BMWs and Rovers I ended up
building a breakout box so I could connect an oscilloscope and DMM.

Thanks BT, I'd seen some stories of corrosion of the wiring elsewhere so I'll have a look. I've ordered an OBD reader so will see if
there are any fault codes that help.

Most simple EOBD readers won't read ABS/ESP faults.

I have one of those lying around, your welcome to borrow it for the price of postage, used it on my 53 plate mondeo. haven't got rid because it also reads some systems on my 06 transit.
