I have a polo saloon 1.9 TDI with hydraulic clutch. As a drive progresses the clutch pedal returns slightly les each press until it's quite low
and a press doesn't quite release the clutch so I grind the gears. I hook my foot behind the pedal, lift it and all is normal for another 10-20
gear changes.
I thought it might be a sticky master cylinder but that would return to the same albeit low position each stroke. Almost as if it looses a little
fluid each time but I can't find a leak and the reservoir level doesn't seem to drop.
Anyone any ideas. I suspect I need a new master cylinder but I would like to avoid that cost as it's only a guess.

Pedal bearing seizing ?
I had a similar problem on an mgf recently, new slave cylinder solved it

Can you get a seal kit for it Nigel or is it a new cylinder only?
Master cylinder recuperating seal needs a bit of recuperation. Thanks for the help.
I will search for seal kits online. Problem is polo saloon is a bit of an oddity. Half polo and half cordoba and not a huge number on the roads.
