I'd put my money on it beong a uva fugitive, dutton did not do a beetle based car as far as i recollect.

I think we should call this Dutton effect: 'TBS' or Triggers Broom Syndrome.
It may have been a Dutton at one time. Until they changed the engine, then the chassis, then the body, then the chassis again...
