Hi there,
I'm doing a jago onto a Suzuki sj413 body swap
I'm nearing the stage of being able to test drive it but looking to do the bare minimum to get it started, I believe as there are no points in
the dizzy that it electronic ignition, I'm basically looking to bench start it although it's still all bolted to the chassis, so due to the
electronic ignition do I have to do anything different to..
Fuel
+ power to starter
- to chassis and battery
+ to coil
Incorporate a temp starter button from + and - of starter
Anything I'm missing or making more complicated than it needs to be?
It's a j plate or 1992 sj413
Thanks in advance
Greg
Not sure if you're just talking electronic ign or fuel injection too. Before you go trying to start it you should be able to remove the 'dizzy' and spin it by hand to check for spark (and if its efi for the injectors clicking too).
oil pressure light/gauge just so you know you have pressure
Not a direct reply but if the engine has nt been run for a while i'd. Remove the plugs, disconnect the fuel pump and turn ig over on the starter a few times to get the oil circulating, next check for spark, then for fuel and finally giver her a quick idle run checking oil pressure, you can do this with no coolant if you keep the running to a minute.
Must admit I hadn't thought of oil pressure!
I will do as advised with the oil as it hasn't been run for over a year now, so glad that was suggested.
I will have coolant as the rad is still in place, however the loom has been chopped about a fair bit so I was looking for a quick way to get it
started before I get involved with sorting the loom out
Cool hopefully may have a vid up soon then maybe in the next 2 weeks or so
