Just changed the oil in my tintop,
Drained the oil and changed the filter
found the plug which I'd dropped in the bottom of the bucket of drained oil
cleaned it all up, replaced the sump plug, refilled the oil
got it down off the ramps
put everything away
last job pour the oil into an old container to take to the tip and found the sump plug washer in the bottom of the bucket....
No one I know 
, but I had my wife lie beside me under the car and gently removed the bolt but held it up tight to the pan.
I then quickly swapped my wife's thumb for the bolt while I put the washer back on and then did the quick swap again.
We didn't lose enough oil to even notice on the dip stick.

Supervised my girlfriend doing her 1st oil change and in the end she did both our cars.
All went swimmingly, we reversed the 2nd car off the ramps but neither of us noticed the bucket with 8Lts of old oil underneath... cue 8lts of oil all
over my parents drive!
That took a few old towels, a lot of cat litter and even more Gunk driveway cleaner to sort out!

My classic is to put proper oil drain can under car. Remove sump plug, sump plug falls into the funnel bit on can and promptly blocks hole into can - cue overflowing oil while you are digging around trying to fish it out.
Not quite the same, but when I first got my Escort back axle I decided to pull out the half-shafts so I could weld on the brackets... first one came out, and the old and smelly axle oil poured out over my shoe and onto the garage floor...
I moved a bus at work and knocked a full drum of old oil over out the bus about 20gal , i spent all my dinner time cleaning it up 
Carefully drained mine, replaced oil filter then put In a fresh gallon of oil, nothing reading on the dipstick as this dipstick had not installed the
bung
Usual trick is pull the bung with hot oil, watch it splash everywhere apart from the container and as it's hot cannot get the bung back in....
Worst part is I do not seem to Learn, couple of weeks ago another oily mess to clear up.
Even purchased a silverline oil extraction thing to suck the oil out via the dipstick, cannot fit the tube down the dipstick hole so more money
wasted.

Bloody hell guys, get yourselves a PELA oil pump and suck the oil out through the dipstick tube. Oil goes straight into a sealed container, no
dicking about under the car and having to replace the sump plug washer, no mess, job done in minutes.
One of the best £40s I've ever spent.
simply turn the car upside down whilst you remove/refit the sump bolt.......sorry.....:-)
My stupidest oil moment was forgetting the whole plug
Started topping up, 2 litres went in (and straight back out again) before I realised I was just oiling the drive. My dad was not best pleased. A
mistake you only make once.
I remember years ago changing oil on my dads renault 5, backing off the ramps drivers door wide open, looking behind making sure not to back into the
gates, crrruunnnccchh door hits side of house,door bent right Back into front wing daddy wasn't best pleased !!
I trained my wife and both of my daughters. None of my kids were allowed to have a car till they'd built a car.
My wife and daughter used to trade me replacing the starter on the VW bug based MGTD kit car for me cooking dinner. They'd beat me every time.
Changed valve stem seals on old Sierra using rope in cylinder trick. Last valve I did, I dropped one of the collets down a drain hole. Took out the sump plug and it fell out. Lucky lucky and it fixed the smoky engine too.
